Concentration in the airline industry

Geert Goeteyn is a partner at Howrey LLP's Brussels office. He advises on all areas of EU and national competition, merger and regulatory law He is dual qualified to practise law in Belgium and in England & Wales and holds an LLM in European Law.

Mr. Goeteyn regularly advises on structural joint ventures and cooperation agreements. He has advised a number of airlines including SAS, United Airlines, Lufthansa and bmi british midland on their complex alliance arrangements and has acted for all of these carriers in the different investigations by the European Commission and competent national authorities.

Mr. Goeteyn also counsels on all competition law (Articles 81 and 82 EC) issues relating to distribution arrangements, licensing agreements, discount schemes, pricing policies and supply arrangements.

On 15 of March between 13.15 and 15.00 he will give a presentation entitled 'Concentration in the airline industry: causes, consequences and merger control'. This presentation will be given during a lecture course for students of the university of Amsterdam and can only be attended by personal invitation.
