Green skies ahead
The Confederation of British Industry issued a report with steps to take for the UK aviation industry to realise its climate change ambitions.

The UK aviation industry has an important role to play in achieving the 2050 target to reduce UK emissions by 80%. CBI argues that:

  • Aviation plays a vital role in the UK and global economy
  • The future success of aviation depends on adapting to a low-carbon future
  • Cap and trade can reconcile growth with emissions targets
  • Governments must regulate sensitively to enable sustainable growth
  • A global cap and trade scheme must be established
