Within the Department of Transport and Regional Economics, Eddy Van de Voorde and Thierry Vanelslander, together with colleagues at TIS.pt had a research report published on the current degree of compliance of the websites of the airline and travel agency sector with Regulation 1008/2008 and Directive 2005/29/EC.

Project principal was European Commission – DG Sanco. The study analysed the content of web pages of online travel agents and tour operators, airlines, air carriers and checks their compliance with the provisions of the existing legislation, which was given to the travel industry as a guideline for compliance. It examined the different stages of the booking process up to the point where a payment will actually be made.
