Jan Veldhuis joined Airneth at 1 May 2009, where he is Program Manager. He will – using his eight-years experience as senior researcher at Amsterdam Aviation Economics – particularly be involved in the scientific program of Airneth.
Jan is since 2001 involved in distinct research projects at Amsterdam Aviation Economics. Most projects are related to aviation economic issues. His expertise is mostly used in policies of airports and governments dealing with aviation. He will – besides his Airneth appointment - continue to be involved in the current research projects of Amsterdam Aviation Economics.
In the eleven years before 2001, he workes for the the Dutch Ministry of Transport, also dealing with aviation economic issues, mostly in the context op Schiphol Airport and the government policies with regard to this airport. His aviation experience began as early as 1986, where he was appointed at Schiphol Airport, mainly dealing with economic issues around its Master Plan and the new fifth runway at the airport.
