Peter Morrell

After research at MIT and working as an economist with the Association of European Airlines, Peter Morrell joined Cranfield’s Department of Air Transport, where he worked from 1991 until his recent retirement when he held a chair in air transport economics and finance.  These two areas were the focus of his research and consultancy interests.  He has been involved in numerous airline and airport projects worldwide.  Airline projects have ranged from British Airways and LOT Polish Airlines in Europe to Air Zimbabwe, Royal Nepal Airlines and LIAT around the world.  He also directed a number of major studies for the European Commission.

He has continuing links with Cranfield as a visiting professor and serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Air Transport Management and Tourism Economics.  His book ‘Airline Finance’ is in its fourth edition., and he has published one of the few recent books (if any?) dedicated to air cargo – ‘Moving boxes by air’.
